The M/V Queensland underwent a comprehensive conversion to transform a standard container vessel into a fully functional livestock carrier, operating under Elbeco’s management. The project began in 2015 and was successfully delivered in 2017, marking another milestone in Elbeco’s long-standing expertise in ship conversion.
Scope of work included complete design, equipment supply, and shipyard supervision, ensuring full compliance with international livestock transport standards. Key upgrades covered multi-deck livestock pens, ventilation and feeding systems, freshwater and drainage networks, and crew accommodations tailored for long voyages. Open decks were optimized for animal welfare, ventilation, and easy cleaning, while structural reinforcements enhanced stability and operational safety.
